  • Congratulations on being selected for the Semi-Finale round of Dance USA Dance Season 2. To ensure the success of the show along with your safety, we would like to go over some rules and regulations of the event, including the process and other disciplinary requirements of the show.

  • Registration and Process
    • Roles & Responsibilities : 1) 5678 Media Group will appoint a Liaison for each dance group who will be their primary contact and will be able to answer any questions they may have. If you need any clarity do not hesitate to ask. 2) All dance groups will receive a unique registration number for their placement in the Dance USA Dance national competition from their appointed liaisons. Please DO NOT LOSE this number as it allows 5678 Media Group to keep track of all the dance groups. 3)All participating Senior Teams must be at the hotel no later than 3.00 PM on July 12th, 2018 for accountability. 4) All participating Junior Teams are required to be at the hotel no later than 8.00 PM on July 12th, 2018. 5) If a member of your group cannot make it to the national competition because of medical, financial issues, etc. please inform your liaison IMMEDIATELY.
    • Communicating With Your Appointed Liaison
    • Your appointed liaison will work closely with you to ensure all requirements are met. Please inform your liaison before June 29, 2018, about the following: 1) Flight and Lodging 2) Wardrobe (Please provide a picture of the wardrobe the dance group will wear at the event.) 3) Personal Props (Please provide pictures of props that will be used. Note: Any props larger than 60” x 24” should be approved by 5678 Media Group at least 2 weeks prior to the event.)
  • Music and Performance Specifications
    • Music
    • • The length of music for the performance should be 3:30 minutes minimum to 4:30 minutes maximum.
    • • Only 30 seconds for grace period is allowed for props.
    • • Music should be taken from ZEE library (provided below).
    • • Music more than 4:30 minutes will result in a loss of points.
    • • Music other than from the ZEE library should not be more than 29 seconds and must be approved by 5678 Media Group.

    • All teams must incorporate one of the following themes for their Semi finale performance. Teams can select a single theme or a combination of themes. Once dance groups have decided the theme, they are required to inform their appointed liaison immediately. An individual theme can only be allotted to four teams so we will assign them on a first come first serve basis.

  • Commonly Asked Questions
    • We are here to help you. We encourage all members of dance groups to connect directly with their appointed liaisons or a 5678 Media Group official member if they have any questions. Here are a few points on commonly asked questions. TRAVEL : The Semi-Finalist dance teams are responsible for their own travel arrangements from their respective home/location to East Brunswick, NJ. ACCOMMODATION : 5678 Media Group will provide discounted price lodging for all dance groups at a location to be announced closer to the event. FOOD/SNACKS : All dance groups will be provided light snacks and water provided on the July 12th, July 13th, and July 15th. During the day of the show, a food vendor will be present, and teams along with the audience will be able to purchase food directly from the vendor. (Kindly inform your appointed liaison if you have any food allergies that 5678 Media Group staff members should be aware of!) SWAG : Each team member will be given a complimentary T-Shirt, but sizes must be given ASAP. Please contact us. Additional merchandise will be available to purchase at the venue. MOVING FORWARD : Top 12 teams will be selected at the Semi-Finale and move forward to the Grand Finale with a possibility of wild-card(s) entry. Please see below for selection criteria. MINORS : All entrants under the age of 13 will need to have a guardian or parent with them at all times. Dance groups may have ONE guardian or parent that can watch over the entire group for the duration of the event. (The Guardian/parent will have to buy a general admission ticket ($35). **PARENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE AT ANY TIME. ** CHOREOGRAPHERS : Teams can have ONE choreographer with them during the competition. This choreographer must carry a specific Pass to be allowed backstage. The Pass will allow backstage entry during limited times of the show set by production. Without a pass, no individuals will be allowed backstage.
  • Stage & Technical Specifications
    • Attached you’ll find the full specs for Lighting and Sound at the JMPAC EAST BRUNSWICK HIGH SCHOOL. If anyone has any requests for specific lighting or sound, you will need to fill out a Light/Cue sheet and it must be approved at least ONE month in advance by the 5678 Media Group team. Attached you will also find the stage specs. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.

      Semi-finale judges will give the score on the spot.
    • • Grand finale Judges - 30
      All the judges will watch all the performances on Saturday and will give points accordingly.
      • Live Voting:
    • A live voting link will be shared with each member of the audience during Semi-Finale event. Each sign-in will be able to vote for one team only. Live voting will start at the Semi-Finale and end at the Grand Finale competition. The team with the most votes will win the “Audience Choice Award” at the Grand Finale.
      • Result Announcement:
    • All the results for the Semi-finale round will be announced on the Grand Finale day before the actual show starts. All score sheets will be signed and will be uploaded onto the Dance USA Dance website within 72 hours. Log on to www.danceusadance.us
      • Certificates:
    • All teams selected for the Semi-finale round will receive a certificate of participation, signed by the Executive Producers and Grand Finale judges.

      • Conditions & Restrictions:
    • The following will not be permitted in the performance at the SEMI FINALE event, unless with a written approval from the 5678 Media Group Team:
    • • No animals may be involved in the performances
    • • No sharp objects may be used
    • • No flammable objects or substances may be used
    • • No fog or smoke machines
    • • No projectiles
    • • No liquid products, i.e. gel, water, etc.

      • Friends & Family Access:
    • 5678 Media Group welcomes all friends and families to attend for support. We just ask our attendees to keep in mind that only parents and guardians of Participants under the age of eighteen (18) are allowed in the green room (backstage).
      • Family Environment:
    • • This is a family event, which means no sexually explicit dances and/or costumes will be allowed.
    • • Parents and guardians will have to show a photo ID (Driver’s License, School ID, etc.).
    • • If participants or attendees are under the age of 18 and will be at the event, they will have to have someone who is at least 21 years of age to be there as well to supervise the underage individual(s) through the entire event.
      • Waiver and Release:
    • • All Participants will be required to execute a Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement.
    • • Participants under the age of Eighteen (18) will also be required to have a parent or guardian sign a Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement.
    • *PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: AUTOGRAPHS, PICTURES WITH CELEBRITIES AND USE OF DSLR CAMERAS ARE PROHIBITED IN THE VENUE. * NO RECORDING WHEN GUESTS ARE ON STAGE. THE AREA YOU ARE ENTERING IS BEING TAPED, PHOTOGRAPHED AND/OR FILMED BY 5678 MEDIA GROUP LLC.
